Riley Development Solutions (RDS) education consulting firm provides instructional design, professional development, and project management for public school districts, private and charter schools, professional organizations, and nonprofits. RDS is committed to providing services to people with disabilities that will lead to happy, productive, and independent citizens that can contribute to local and global community.
Education & Career
Successful Career in Corporate Business
Before becoming an educator, Ms. Riley had a successful career in corporate business working in industries including hospitality, transportation, and finance. Her work for the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau, Wyndham Hotels, Pacer International, and Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith helped her acquire the executive skills necessary to become a well-rounded educator.
1990–2001Parent to Parent of Georgia
Ms. Riley’s work with Parent to Parent of Georgia (www.P2PGa.org), the state’s Parent Training and Information Center began in 2003. She has traveled the state leading workshops in school districts for educators and parents on various topics. She remains part of the supporting parent program, offering insight and advice to other parents of children with disabilities, to this day.

Ms. Riley is an expert in her field and is certified in all K-8 content area subjects (math, science, social studies, and language arts). In addition, Ms. Riley is certified in Special Education Adapted Curriculum and Special Education General Curriculum. She is also certified in General Education High School Biology and High School Language Arts, Teacher Leadership, ESOL, and possesses an Online Teaching Endorsement.

Ms. Riley served on the Georgia Department of Education’s Special Education Continuous Improvement Monitoring Process (GCIMP) Compliance Team.
2010-2012TEACH Gwinnett
Ms. Riley was appointed to serve on Gwinnett County Public Schools TEACH Gwinnett Advisory Board. TEACH Gwinnett is the Teacher Alternative Certification Preparation Program. As a teacher leader, Ms. Riley knows how important it is to attract and retain talented educators and worked diligently on the board to ensure its success.
2014-2017Transition Coach
Ms. Riley served as a Transition Coach helping the local school and other district educators write effective transition plans. She led collaborative programs with Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Services Agency (GVRA) benefiting students exiting the school system.
2016-2019State Advisory Panel (SAP)
Ms. Riley was appointed by Georgia’s Board of Education to serve on the Georgia Department of Education’s Special Education State Advisory Panel (SAP). The SAP advises the GaDOE in developing corrective action plans to address findings identified in federal monitoring reports under IDEA and advises the GaDOE in developing and implementing policies relating to the coordination of services for children with disabilities. The Panel participates in the Continuous Improvement Monitoring Process by recommending target areas for upcoming focused monitoring activities. This work is very important to Ms. Riley as a parent of a child with a disability and as a long-time educator.

Ms. Riley is highly skilled in understanding the needs of students with a wide range of mental health conditions and/or disabilities including Autism (ASD), Specific Learning disabilities (SLD), Speech Language disabilities (SLI), Mild Intellectual disabilities (MI), and Emotional Behavioral disabilities (EBD). Ms. Riley is adept at writing Individualized Education Programs (IEP), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), Transition Plans, and Safety Plans.

She has led Professional Development for districts throughout the state of Georgia on a variety of topics. She believes in and practices strong collaboration skills with families, related services professionals, and community stakeholders.
